Eat & Learn Field Trips

Natural Environment Learning is an integral part of our ABA curriculum.  It is imperative that students be able to take the skills they learn in the classroom and generalize them across different environments.  Many of our families experience difficulties taking their children out to dine in restaurants.  Our "Eat and Learn" Field Trip Program provides our students with the opportunity to learn how to conduct themselves in a restaurant setting.  Everything from ordering food, sitting appropriately, table manners and feeding skills are addressed in a meaningful and realistic environment.  This year, our students and Summer Camp participants visited Chili's restaurant twice; the first visit was to introduce the concepts learned in the classroom, and the second visit provided reinforcement and follow-up on the skills attained.  This program was possible through the generosity of the Florida Marlins Community Foundation, and we are truly grateful for their support.
