Enrollment

For students applying for Kindergarten for the 2010 – 2011 school year: The application period is February 1 through March 15, 2010.  If the number of applicants exceeds the available student vacancies then a lottery will be held to randomly select from the total of student applicants. An offer of admission will be made to those persons selected in the lottery up to the number of student vacancies. Parents shall have 10 business days to respond to the offer of admission. If that response is negative or if there is no response then the school shall move to the next applicant selected in the lottery until all student vacancies have been filled. If for some reason, student spaces should become available after all names in the applicant pool have received an offer of admission, and either accepted or rejected that offer, then the school will move to accept applicants from a first-come, first-served waiting list established after the close of the initial enrollment.

For students currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade who wish to apply to SFACS: Please see our eligibility requirements below. Once you have downloaded and completed our Enrollment Application, please mail it to us with a copy of your child’s most recent public school IEP.  The school is presently at capacity.  Once your child has been determined to meet our eligibility requirements, we will add your application to our Waiting List. 

Due to the high volume of demand, tours will be given only to families of students who have completed the application process and have been determined to meet the school’s eligibility requirements.

To Apply

Eligibility:

• Student must be diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Student must have a public school IEP reflecting eligibility for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services and placement.
• Student must be on a modified curriculum – we cannot enroll students who are on a general education curriculum

In addition, the student must fall within one or more of the following categories:

• Student has behavioral difficulties
• Student has communication deficit
• Student requires training in self-care skills

Please note, student must be eligible for enrollment in Kindergarten through 8th at the time of application. Children who are not yet eligible for Kindergarten may apply at the beginning of Enrollment Period for the 2010 – 2011 School Year, which is February 1, 2010.
